Let’s talk about immune health.
With Covid-19 + cold and flu season, it’s more important than ever to keep your immune system healthy! And popping pills is not the answer. Healthy food beats supplements any day! With so much misinformation concerning immune health, I created this brief video to dispel common myths and misinformation. (FYI—sorry folks but you can’t really “boost” your immune system. If only…)⠀Enjoy.⠀

In addition, here’s an immune-health cheat sheet to keep handy which identifies some ways to help support your immune health throughout the year!
Exercise– Moving for at least 20 minutes a day may not only help manage your weight and decrease disease risk, it can also improve your mental health and your mood. Do what you love and stick with it!
Fluids– Drink lots of fluids–especially water–throughout the day!
Vitamin D– Go for a walk and soak up some sunshine.
Fruits & vegetables – Enjoy colorful produce which are full of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants.
Sleep– Getting adequate sleep is associated with improved mood, it can help manage your weight and increase productivity. Aim for 7-9 hours each night.
Relax– When times are stressful, it’s important to carve out time to relax and de-stress!
And, here are some of my nutrition tips to help keep your immune system strong and help keep you healthy all winter long:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Include a vitamin C rich fruit at breakfast- citrus fruits are full of antioxidants!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Add nuts and wheat germ to your yogurt– yogurt is rich in probiotics along with protein, vitamins B12 & D can help with immune function. Nuts and wheat germ are rich in antioxidant vitamin E.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Build a healthy salad full of colorful produce! The more color on your plate, the more nutrients & antioxidants you will get.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pour a cup of tea with ginger! Tea is full of polyphenols and flavonoids-antioxidants that will help keep your immune system strong.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Include miso soup and other fermented foods to promote gut health! Miso soup is full of #probiotics which promotes digestive health and immune function.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Cook with spices and herbs! Spices and herbs can help keep our immune system strong.
Enjoy some grilled salmon with a side of sautéed broccoli. Salmon is full of protein and vitamin D which is important for immune health. And broccoli contains the antioxidant vitamins C and A.
