Hello,
As a nutritionist, I give food a lot of credit for contributing to good health, a strong immune system, and keeping us energized throughout the day.
Research shows that certain foods can even influence our MOODS!
Foods rich in tryptophan, B vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, magnesium, and probiotics have been shown to regulate our moods, and even reduce anxiety. While the research is not conclusive, there’s still good reason to focus on a healthy diet in the hope of protecting your mental health.
Omega-3 fatty acids are part of the cell membranes in our brain, and eating foods like salmon and sardines may boost our mood and even ease depression.
The monounsaturated fats in avocados and nuts may help reduce inflammation and blood pressure, both which are important for brain health.
Mood boosting foods include:
✅Salmon
✅Avocado
✅Nuts
✅Greens
✅Chickpeas
✅Yogurt
Include them in your eating plan! They taste great too. Below is a cheat sheet to bookmark and save.
Have a healthy week!
Warmly,
Lisa
